COREY BEER RETURNS AS HEAD COACH. APPOINTED GENERAL MANAGER

PORT HOPE, ON – The Panthers are proud to welcome back Corey Beer as Head Coach and announce his appointment of General Manager for the upcoming season.

Corey, a native of Oshawa, brings over 20 years of coaching experience with him including over 10 years in junior hockey. Beer has made stops in Whitby (OJHL) and Cobourg (OJHL) as an assistant coach culminating in 2017 with the Cougars winning the Junior A National Championship (RBC Cup). From there Beer became the Head Coach of the Timmins Rock (NOJHL) spending 4 years with the program and having the team nationally ranked 3 times, including setting multiple franchise records along the way.

On the International stage, Corey has had success at the World Junior A Challenge as an Assistant Coach for Team Canada East in 2018 and 2019, winning a silver medal in 2019. Beer was also named Head Coach of Team East for the Top Prospects game in 2020. That same year he was also a finalist for the CJHL Coach of the Year (Darcy Haugan/Mark Cross Memorial Award).
