The Port Hope Panthers kick off their regular season at 7:30pm on Saturday night, as the Campbellford Rebels head into town.  The Panthers have been working tirelessly over the past month in preparation for the upcoming season,  and are beyond excited to welcome their fans back into the Jack Burger Sports Complex (JBSC) to cheer on the home town team.

“We had a really competitive camp and came out with a ton of new talent and faces to add to our organization.  We are really happy with how the team came together over the past few weeks, and are just excited to get back to the rink and play hockey in front of a crowd” said General Manager and Head Coach David Miller. “The Panthers are going to be a team based on speed and skill, and we are excited to show our supporters our commitment to bring back a competitive and winning environment to the Jack. We’re thankful for the support of the Jack Burger as well as the PJHL in facilitating the return of hockey to Port Hope this year.  Facility staff and the town of Port Hope have been fantastic in accommodating us and our return to play and have provided the boys with a fantastic plan that allows them to focus on playing hockey.”

The Panthers are asking fans arrive promptly for puck drop, as the organization will be making several presentations prior to the game.  Due to the COVID shutdown of last year, the Panthers did not get to properly recognize two players that had a monumental impact on the organization and will be honouring Corey Saman and Jarrett Desormeaux prior to the game.  The Panthers will also be celebrating the life of Kim Spencer prior to puck drop.  Kim was a devout volunteer and supporter of the Panthers, and passed away earlier in the year.  The Panthers will honour Kim and her family with an acknowledgement prior to the game.
