PANTHERS OUTPACED BY HUSKIES

FRANKFORD, ON – The Port Hope Panthers were outpaced by the Frankford Huskies on the road in a high-scoring contest on Monday night.

Frankford jumped out early in the opening period, scoring twice in the first five minutes to take a 2–0 lead. The Panthers responded at the 8:12 mark when Zach Naherne finished a nice play off a setup from Tyler Challice, cutting the deficit to one. However, the Huskies answered back late in the frame with two quick goals to regain momentum. Port Hope closed the period on a positive note, as Sutton Scheck scored in the final second of the first, finishing a play from Ryerson Minifie and Caeden Allenby to make it a 4–2 game after 20 minutes.

The second period featured special teams opportunities for both sides. Frankford capitalized first with a power-play goal midway through the frame. The Panthers answered late on the man advantage, with Tyler Challice finding the back of the net at 18:32, assisted by Kaden King and Christian Sokoljuk, pulling Port Hope back within two heading into the third.

In the final period, the Huskies took control and didn’t look back as they netted another power-play marker before sealing the game with a pair of empty-net goals. Frankford added one more late tally to close out the scoring.

Port Hope will look to regroup quickly as they prepare for their next matchup, Wednesday night vs. the Amherstview Jets. Puck Drop is set for 7:30 PM.
