Sokoljuk and Henderson Shine to Lead Panthers to 4-2 Victory Over Huskies

FRANKFORD, ON – The Port Hope Panthers skated to a 4–2 victory over the Frankford Huskies on Saturday night, powered by a two-goal performance from Christian Sokoljuk and a steady effort between the pipes from Braden Henderson.

The Huskies opened the scoring late in the first period when Mason Boyer capitalized on a power play at 16:28. The Panthers wasted little time responding — just 40 seconds later, Sokoljuk evened the game at 1–1, burying a feed from Luca Damiani-Reis and Jacob Bone.

In the second period, Port Hope took control as Nathan Hibbard netted his first of the season at 13:55, with Colby Hercia drawing the lone assist on a beautiful pass to give the Panthers a 2–1 lead heading into the third.

Frankford managed to tie things early in the final frame when Spencer Stanutz struck just seven seconds in on the power play, but Sokoljuk answered back once again, scoring his second of the night and tenth of the season at 9:55 to restore Port Hope’s advantage.

The Panthers sealed the win in the final minute when Spencer Eriksson found the empty net at 19:47, assisted by Mike Hatfield and Sidney Wakely, securing the 4–2 victory.

Goaltender Braden Henderson was strong throughout the night, turning aside 31 of 33 shots to earn the win. The Panthers’ disciplined play and balanced attack proved decisive, as they improved their record and continued their strong play.

Port Hope will look to carry their momentum into their next game as they return home after two road wins to face the Napanee Raiders on Saturday night. Puck drop is set for 7:30 PM at the Jack Burger Sports Complex.
