PANTHERS FALL TO HUSKIES IN LOPSIDED LOSS

FRANKFORD, ON – After their 7-2 victory on Saturday night vs. Amherstview, roles were reversed on Monday night as Panthers fell to the Huskies 7-2 on the road.

Despite opening the scoring at 4:05 of the first off a rush from Tyler McGarvey, the Panthers found themselves heading into intermission down 2-1 thanks to goals from Blake Ellis and Keenan Wiles.

Huskies extended their lead 3-1 just 48 seconds into the period when Liam Storms found the back of the net. Panthers came back to cut the lead in half thanks to a powerplay goal from Josh Sainthill but within the next three minutes, Frankford found themselves with a 5-2 lead when Matt Musclow and Dylan Foster each had a goal just 36 second apart. Port Hope elected for a goaltender change at the 6:25 mark as Ethan Reynaud skated in to replace Dominic Marquis. Frankford added another goal before the period was over sending Port Hope into the dressing room trialing 6-2.

There wasn’t much action around either goalie in the third period with shot totals of only 6 for Port Hope and 8 for Frankford. Huskies did add one more as their penalty expired and went on to beat the Panthers 7-2.

Not dressing for the Port Hope was Connor MacGregor, Ben Hansen and Spencer Eriksson.

Port Hope will get back to work at practice this week as they prepare to take on the Napanee Raiders at home on Saturday September 30. Puck drop is 7:30.
