PANTHERS BOUNCE BACK AND BEAT RAIDERS 5-2

PORT HOPE, ON – Both the Panthers and Raiders were looking to get into the win column on Saturday coming off disappointing losses in each of their previous games.

The game opened with a fast pace, Panthers pressing early with offensive control, however the Raiders struck first when Michael Patrick put the puck on net and it bounced over the stick of Port Hope goaltender Ethan Reynaud as he went to play it into the corner at 17:19 of the period.

Panthers were not fazed and continued to pressure. After being sent to the box for tripping, Sidney Wakely tied the game at 11:03 off a Napanee turnover and a high slot shot that beat Logan Vale high glove. Napanee regained the lead at 7:22 a power play goal off the stick of Marshall McFarland and the Panthers would head off the ice trailing 2-1.

Carter Chadwick scored his first regular season goal as a Panther to tie the game 3:53 seconds into the second frame and despite multiple power play chances for both teams, it would be the only goal of the period.

Third period action was all Panthers. Noah Richard gave Port Hope the lead at 13:75 and it was quickly followed by a second Port Hope goal off the stick of Josh Sainthill at 13:50. Napanee pulled their goalie and Isaac Langdon would seal the win with an empty net goal for a final score of 5-2.

Ethan Reynaud got his first win between the pipes with 24 saves on the night.

Panthers are back in action tomorrow when they travel to Amherstview to take on the Jets.
