PANTHERS FALL TO JETS IN GAME THREE

AMHERSTVIEW, ON – After dropping a close game on Saturday night at home, Port Hope travelled to Amherstview for the second of back to back games.

For the third game in a row, Port Hope found themselves down by two goals at the end of twenty minutes. Jets forwards Brad Wilson and Carter McKee, PJHL Rookie of the Year, each had a goal in the first while Port Hope found the penalty box once when Kyle Ramsperger was called for roughing at 9:29.

Jets continued their scoring ways in the second as Payton Clarke put the puck past Panthers goaltender Dominic Marquis from an awkward angle. That would be the end of Marquis’ time in net as Brayden Friedrich came in to replace him following the goal.

Port Hope found themselves on the powerplay when Kasey Miller was called for hooking and began to claw their way back into the game. Carter Chadwick jumped on a rebound in front and put it past Marc-Olivier Robert to break the shutout but the Jets weren’t ready to let Port Hope get back into the game as Wilson netted his second of the game to once extend the lead by three. Another powerplay late in the period would provide the Panthers with another opportunity to cut the lead ahead of intermission. Dylan Leslie, AP with the Panthers, made the most of the opportunity and showed patience as he bounced the puck off the pads of Robert from behind the red line.

Panthers continued to push in the third but it wasn’t enough. Jets netted their fifth goal of the game thanks to Andrew White. Final score, Jets 5 Panthers 2. With the win, Amherstview takes a 2-1 series lead.

Game 4 is scheduled for Tuesday night back in Port Hope. Puck drop is 8:00 PM.
