PANTHERS TIE SERIES WITH WIN AT HOME

PORT HOPE, ON – After falling two straight games and now down in the series, Port Hope needed a win at home to tie things up and avoid heading back to Amherstview down 3-1. Well, they did just that.

Carter Chadwick opened the scoring for the Panthers when he intercepted a cross ice pass high slot and buried it past Jets’ goaltender with a slapshot. For the first time in the series, the Panthers found themselves with the lead heading into the dressing room after 20-minutes.

It would be a goal a period for Port Hope the rest of the way. Chadwick netted his second when he jumped on a Connor MacGregor rebound to double his goals and double the lead and Josh Sainthill extended that lead to 3 when he fought past multiple Jets defenders to grab a bouncing puck and put it past Marc-Olivier Robert.

Brayden Friedrich earned the win and shutout as he stopped all 23 shots he faced and the Panthers outshot the Jets 44-23, earning the 3-0 win.

With the win, Port Hope ties the series at two a piece and prepare to head back to Amherstview on Thursday night for Game 5 before returning home on Saturday for Game 6.
